Latest figures have shown Mortgage Lenders are financing the largest house spree in the last five years. The Council of Mortgage Lenders has suggested first time buyer mortgage lending has also increased by almost a third within the past 12 months. This increase has come about even before the second phase of the Help to Buy scheme commences.
Phase two of the Help to Buy scheme is designed to make 95% of mortgages available to first time buyers. Barclays Bank has now joined Santander, RBS, Halifax and HSBC as the latest lender to confirm it will take part in the second stage of the governmental scheme.
It is great to see more than half of the lenders within the mortgage market signing up to help promote the governmental Help to Buy scheme which lends a helping hand when purchasing homes.
