Why do we keep rushing Divorce?

Since the 1970s divorce rates have risen dramatically this not only subconsciously efftcs those around us, but it also destroys us financially as a nation. It’s not unheard of happy couples going their separate ways within months or even weeks of their big day. It’s not only newlyweds who are meeting with their divorce lawyers. However, it does seem like couples these days are marrying knowing that there is a way to back out if they aren’t happy. Here are a few reasons as to why you should think before putting yourself through instant stress as well as trying to avoid pointless expenditure.

Every Couple Have Their Problems

It is a concern that couples expect to be happy throughout their entire married life. This isn’t the case; there are ups and downs in every relationship. It’s important not to run for the door the first time you experience troubled waters. Long term couples will tell you they have had to work hard to overcome challenges but it is possible to regain love and respect for one another.

Stand By Your Commitment

Marriage is still a commitment, it’s best to ignore the word divorce and pretend it wasn’t there. It’s being seen as a quick exit strategy but one that is highly emotional. The effect of a break up can damage all members of the family for years to come. It’s not the easy option and it shouldn’t be seen as one.

Children and Families

Even the most civil of breakups will have an effect on the children. They may show their fears and anxiety immediately or keep it well hidden so as to not hurt anyone further. The subconscious effect can be traumatic leading to multiple problems in later life. Rather than following immediate emotions it is worth waiting and working together for the good of the family.

Just Because You Can Doesn’t Mean You Should

Divorce solicitors are easy to find but this doesn’t mean you should rush out to meet with one. Your emotions may be high but you need to give yourself time to calm down and reflect. Love can conquer all and lost love can be found with commitment and time. It might be possible to speak to a solicitor but that doesn’t mean it’s the right step to take just yet.

Slow Down and Take a Breath

If you’re experiencing problems that doesn’t mean the marriage has to come to an end. Talking, time and understanding will work wonders if they are given a choice. Divorcing may seem appealing to you but that doesn’t mean it is the right answer. Take time to reflect on your relationship and try to work together on the issues that you are facing.

Considerations

Never rush the decision, let the turbulence settle down. If you feel you have no other choice remember to consider the emotions of other family members. The impact of the breakdown of the family is life changing for everyone.
