Mark Thorley, Scottish Solicitor & Part-Time Sheriff – Career, Publications & Media

Mark Thorley is a Scottish solicitor and part-time Sheriff.[1] He also co-founded the firm Blacklock Thorley in 1992 and then Thorley Stephenson in 2005,[2] before joining Anderson Strathern as a Director in 2023.

Career

Upon completion of an LLB Honours degree and a Dip LP, Thorley spent six years with Balfour & Manson specialising in reparation, family, and criminal law.

In 1992, he co-founded Blacklock Thorley Solicitors specialising in debt recovery, family, criminal, and reparation law.

In 2005 he co-founded Thorley Stephenson where he was in charge of the family law and reparation department of the firm that started with one assistant and grew the team to nine lawyers and one trainee solicitor.

Mark is now a Director at Anderson Strathern in Edinburgh.
