A 65-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash after he was struck by a vehicle and dragged on the street for 75 feet. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal pedestrian collision occurred the night of July 2, 2013 at the intersection of Alameda and Oak streets in Compton. Police say the victim was dragged for about 75 feet. The driver failed to stop and continued northbound on Alameda Street before turning onto Pine Street. Officials have described the suspect vehicle as a white sedan, possibly a Pontiac or a Chevy, which sustained significant damage in the crash. Police are checking with neighboring businesses to see how much of the incident may have been captured by surveillance cameras.
Based on this news report, it appears that the victim was crossing the street at an intersection when he was struck and dragged by the vehicle.
